How do I know, I have Leadership Skills

Leadership is responsibility and empowering others to perform at their best and enabling them to grow. Based on my experiences and awareness below are the points which anybody can reflect to evaluate whether they have leadership skills or not: Ready to Trust Others Ready to Empower others Being Empathetic Being a good listener Being a visionary Risk Taker Anybody can become an effective Leader with consistent and diligent efforts on the above-mentioned skills enhancements. The biggest challenge/drawback which any young leaders encounter is the lack of patience and listening skills. I would say, if someone is not a good listener then he/she can’t be a leader at all. During my early stage of career, got an opportunity to work with a Project Lead. After seeing my technical skills and overall capabilities, this lead has empowered me with complete authority on the project which includes handling entire team and customer also. Reliable Leader

Reliability trait takes any leader to be a very strong effective Leader. Reliability is one of the biggest traits any team looks towards the leaders. When any leader is reliable the team trust and counts on him/her. Humility clubbed with reliability will be the biggest advantage which any Leader can showcase. Leaders always have authority and responsibility, but how they use these two attributes defines the team’s performance. Any team with strong reliable leader will be very effective, as it knows that the leader is going to take care of all aspects for them. Reliability sounds to be simple/easy to practice, but, it is tough. It involves leaders to be very consistent in the message/words which they convey to the team and always they must stand by their words/commitments. Most Leaders misunderstand the reliability and gets in biases towards the team which will demoralize the team and the collaboration and cohesiveness will be lacking.
