Leadership is responsibility and empowering others to perform at their best and enabling them to grow. Based on my experiences and awareness below are the points which anybody can reflect to evaluate whether they have leadership skills or not: Ready to Trust Others Ready to Empower others Being Empathetic Being a good listener Being a visionary Risk Taker Anybody can become an effective Leader with consistent and diligent efforts on the above-mentioned skills enhancements. The biggest challenge/drawback which any young leaders encounter is the lack of patience and listening skills. I would say, if someone is not a good listener then he/she can’t be a leader at all. Approachable Leader

One of the main traits of any effective or strong Leader is, how approachable he is. An approachable Leader with strong strategy and vision is a successful leader. Leader who creates the environment for his team to be approachable irrespective of all the challenges, issues or suggestions will be able to create a very strong cohesive team. Trust, passion and collaboration will be automatically established when the leader is approachable. Leader should always look at his team as an extended family and be ready to jump in and support any team member based on the need. The complete energy of the team is primarily driven by Energetic leader and who always thrives to shield the team from any obstacles. Level-Headed (Leader)

Leadership is not about authority and it is about responsibility and empowering others. Level-Headed Leader is someone who responds to the situation and not the one who reacts to the situation. If you observe, there is difference between responding and reacting. Level-Headed nature lies within these two words difference. Any leader to be a great leader has to be level-headed. Being level-headed is not that tough, it is just the approach any leader takes and how he implements. The words which are spoken by any leader being level headed should mean what he wanted to say instead of leaving for assumptions. Level-Headed Leaders control their emotions and don’t react to situations, instead they will analyze the situation by taking a pause and understand the bigger picture of the situation and then respond how to tackle it. Leadership is always considered as authority or power which many people like to have and control and dictate things. Leadership is responsibility and capability to empower people to do the best and perform the best. In Corporate world, everybody aspires to be a leader but very few becomes a true leader. Indian IT sector has lot of great leaders, but still it needs lot more effective and strong leaders to make India a true global power. I have been working in corporate field for more than two decades and has seen lot of managers, leaders and bosses.
